Jason, our founder of Fresh Start 

HANGING ONTO LIFE 

Jason found  himself suffering from mental health problems, he was homeless and in severe debt.  His environment was a lonely, painful place. 

Jason was a person in need and all alone, suffering from the loss of his mother who he looked after for five years.  She suffered from dementia, Alzheimer's and  diabetes.

When Jason was diagnosed and hospitalized with mental health illness, it was incredibly hard for him to deal with relationships, as Jason closed down and felt so alone, worthless, isolated and exhausted. 

Jason also suffers from dyslexia, which makes written communication frustrating, painful and very stressful.  Due to his dyslexia, learning difficulties and financial situation, (skint), he had trouble accessing the correct help.  He could not complete the paperwork he was sent, which meant government help took too long to come through. 

Jason was not told that being an ex service man he could access further support.

Jason found this a lonely, painful and isolating place to be. 

If Jason had found individual, tailor made information and advice, or, spoken to someone on the telephone, he doesn't think he would have found himself so desperate and in distress, alone, isolated, hungry and in pain on the edge of the bridge about to take his own life. 

When Jason was ill, he had a German shepherd dog called Diesel.  Diesel was his companion, his best friend, and his life.  Every time Jason visited THAT bridge TO END HIS LIFE, because Jason felt so desperate and alone, hungry and in pain, Diesel always pulled back and would not allow him to get to the top of the bridge.

No organisation came forward to offer him help for FREE.

JASON DEEPLY BELIEVES NO ONE SHOULD HAVE NO ONE AT TIME OF CRISIS OR IN NEED IN THEIR LIVES.

Fresh Start gives people like Jason, our founder, hope, puts a smile back on peoples face's, helps people believe that there is a TOMORROW and helps them rebuild their lives, not end their lives. 

Jason founded this organisation, so that no one has to suffer like he did.

Jason's knows by his own pain and experience that Fresh Start, really does save lives, rebuild lives, rebuild communities and makes a difference to people in crisis, in need and in poverty.
